| The
Andersen & Bruhn organ of 1999 in Lemvig Church is a characteristic example of the stylistically comprehensive type of organ which most organists seem to prefer today, since they want to be able to play music in many different styles with a reasonable degree of authenticity in the registration. The tonal concept behind the Lemvig organ can be described as an attempt to synthesize "baroque" and "romantic" elements. It goes without saying that total authenticity is impossible - neither Buxtehude nor Brahms sound as the composers would have imagined. But the organ creates its own style as it were by combining these diversified elements - it belongs to a modern "multi-style" type of instrument. The façade, which is in imitation-rococo style, dates from 1935, and it originates from the church's former Frobenius organ. |
